In January 2010, Jason will teach a new Celtic Folk Music course at the Cambridge Centre for the Arts.
The class, tentatively titled "Fire in the Heart: An Introduction to Celtic Folk Music", will be offered Wednesday evenings from 7-8 pm at 60 Dickson Street, Cambridge, ON from January 27 through March 24. Geared primarily towards those who have little or no familiary with Celtic music but who would like to learn more about it, participants will explore these rich traditions through a unique combination of discussions, listening experiences, hands-on learning (studying the basics of the pennywhistle) and a special emphasis on the local Celtic music community.
Registration for the class opens Monday November 9. Please visit www.cambridgecentreforthearts.ca for further information on this and all other winter course offerings.
Jason is an experienced teacher, having presented enrichment courses in Celtic music, as well as workshops and master classes in pennywhistle and Irish flute. He is an instructor at the Riverside Celtic College in Guelph, ON and teaches privately in the Grand River area. |
